Vice president of pvt company kidnapped, released after police chase


Policenama Online – The vice president of a private company who was returning home in car, was kidnapped near Charholi on Tuesday around 5.30 pm. He was released at Chaufula after police launched a search for the kidnappers.

Two youths intercepted the car and blocked its way. They started argument with his driver and threw chilli powder in the driver’s eyes. They threatened the victim and kidnapped him.

After getting information, officials from Pimpri-Chinchwad police swung into action to rescue the senior official.

A team led by DCP Smartna Patil, ACP (Chakan division) Chandrakant Alastwar, ACP (crime Branch) Satish Patil, Dighi police station’s senior inspector Vivek Lavand, crime branch inspector Sudhir Aspat, Uttam Tangde, Alandi police station senior inspector Ravindra Chaudhar began the investigation. They went to the spot and checked CCTV footages of the route taken by accused persons.

Meanwhile, the brother of the victim got a call from kidnappers who said that the victim is at Hotel Taj Dhaba at Kedgaon Chaufula on Pune-Solapur highway. He was rescued from the spot. However, the kidnappers were not found there.

An FIR has been registered against the unidentified kidnappers with Dighi police station. Police officials said that a search has been launched for the kidnappers.
