Girl files FIR against relatives for opposing relationship with different caste boy
Policenama online Pune – Acting on the directions of the Bombay High court, a 19-year-old girl has lodged complaint with police against uncle and two relatives who harassed her for having relationship with youth from other caste.
Accordingly, Talegaon police station under Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has registered the FIR against the three accused persons for offences under sections 323(assault), 344(wrongful confinement),352(punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant charges under the Maharshtra Police Act.
According to police, the girl wanted to marry the youth but her family members were opposed to the relationship as both belonged to different castes. She is from Maratha community and the boy belongs to a scheduled caste. Her parents had stopped her education and detained her at home for two months.
