Pune : Baramati DySP’s driver caught taking bribe


Pune : Policenama Online – The sleuths from the Pune unit of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested the driver of Baramati division’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) or the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).

The arrested accused has been identified as ASI Laxman Dadu Zagade (57) of Pune rural police.

According to ACB, the complainant in the case is an accused against whom FIR is registered with Bhigwan police station for allegedly cutting sandalwood. Zagade promised to help in the ongoing case and also help him smuggle sandalwood.

However, the complainant approached ACB which laid a trap near the Baramati SDPO office and caught Zagade accepting bribe of Rs 12,000.

Superintendent of Police Sandip Dewan, additional superintendent Dilip Boraste supervised the investigation team which included DySP Dattatreya Bhapkar, Pratibha Shendge, head constable Mustak Khan, Police naik Kumbhar, constable Supriya Kadbane, Ankush Ambekar, Abhijit Raut.
