Pune: Ambegaon Tehsildar, clerk caught taking bribe
Pune, Policenama Online – The sleuths from the State anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Pune unit, caught Ambegaon Tehsildar while allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 from a contractor engaged in transporting stones, on Monday evening.
The ACB has identified the arrested persons as Tehsildar Sushma Paikikar and clerk Dinkar Ladke of Ambegaon tehsil office in Ghodegaon, about 75 km from Pune.
According to ACB, the Tehsildar had seized truck of the contractor and told him that he has to pay penalty of Rs 2.41 lakhs to get the truck released. Later she allegedly negotiated with him and told him pay Rs 46,000 fine and pay Rs one lakh to her and the clerk.
The contractor complained to the ACB office in Pune. A trap was laid at the Tehsil office in Ghodegaon and the Tehsildar was allegedly caught accepting bribe of Rs 50,000 around 6 pm.
The action was taken under guidance of Superintendent of Police (ACB, Pune) Sandeep Diwan, Add SP Dilip Boraste, DySP of Police Dattatray Bhapkar, Seema Mehandale, and policemen Rashid Khan, Deepak Tilekar and Abhijit Raut.
