Communal clash in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district
Parbhani : Policenama Online – There was a communal clash in Palam in Parbhani district in Maharashtra recently. According to the police, an incident of eve-teasing led to the communal clash. Police officials said that the situation was under control now.
A girl was allegedly teased by a group of youths in the town, which led to clashes between two communities. The police official informed that the rioters had ransacked shops, hotels and two-wheelers parked on the road.
“They even pelted at police and their vehicles,” the police official said. The situation was brought under control with deployment of additional force after two and a half hours, the official added.
The official informed that the police registered a case against about 400 persons from both the communities and have arrested seven persons so far. Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde also visited Palam.
The NCP leader appealed people to maintain peace and asked the authorities to act against the miscreants.
