Then the PSLV Polar Satellite Launch vehicle was developed to launch its IRS to Sun Synchronous Orbit and can also be used to launch small-sized satellites. So PSLV – C47 is going to launch Cartosat – 3 a remote sensing satellite from ISRO, which is going to replace the IRS series. Cartosat is said to be the most capable satellite having a resolution of 25cm, compared to Cartosat – 2 it uses 1.2 optics with 60% weight removal. It is more advanced than Cartosat- 2. It is featured with acoustic optical devices, adaptive optics, in-orbit focusing using MEM and large area light-weight mirrors and a high-quality advanced sense resolution. Cartosat is third generation advanced satellite. The Cartosat will be placed in the orbit of 509km at an inclination of 97.5 degrees.
PSLV -C47 Cartosat – 3 was scheduled to be launched on 25 November 2019 at 0928 hours but is rescheduled to be launched on 27 November 2019 at 0928 hours from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota.
