According to media reports, former Indian all-rounder Ajit Agarkar is the first choice. He could be the new chief selector of Team India. Agarkar, who played under the captaincy of BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, has applied for the post of a selector.
The former chief selector of the Mumbai Cricket Association Ajit Agarkar has a lot of experience and that is why he is in the top consideration.
BCCI had fixed the last date for applying for the post of coach till January 24. The 42-year-old fast bowler, Agarkar has applied for this position. Ajit has played a total of 26 Tests and 191 ODIs for India. He has also played 3 T20 Internationals. Ajit Agarkar has took 288 wickets in ODIs. He is the third-highest wicket-taker for India after Anil Kumble and Javgal Srinath.
