Navneet Rana allegedly threatened by Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant

New Delhi : The Independent MP from Maharashtra’s Amravati Navneet Rana on Monday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, claiming that Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant threatened her after she raised the Sachin Vaze issue in the House.

Navneet Rana also reportedly sought police action against the Shiv Sena’s Arvind Sawant. Navneet Rana has alleged that after she raised the ‘Sachin Vaze’ issue, Sawant threatened her in the Lok Sabha’s lobby, saying “I will see how you roam in Maharashtra”.

On the other hand, Arvind Sawant termed the charges a “big lie” after facing allegations from the Maharashtra MP. Responding to her charges, the Shiv Sena MP said they were not true.

News agency ANI quoted Sawant as saying, “This is a big lie. Why will I threaten her? If there were people present near her at that time, then they can say if I had threatened her.”

He said, “Navneet Rana ji calls me bhaiya, dada and even I speak to her, there is nothing like that. But this, threatening, I am a Shivsainik, keep that in mind. I have not threatened any woman. People present there will be able to tell if I threatened her.”

He added, “I don’t not like the way she talks about Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray. Pick any of her video clippings, you will find her talking about Uddhav Thackeray ji with disrespect. Still, we have never said anything to her.”

Navneet Rana has alleged that she has in the past received death and acid attack threats on the Shiv Sena’s letterhead and also over phone.
