23 people cheated of ₹43 lakh by offering work in private company; FIR registered against five people of Click and Brush Company
PUNE: After luring people by telling them that they could earn ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 per day, makeup artistes, hair stylists, photographers and model designers were given temporary work after taking two years’ subscription money from them. Later, they were told that the company was in trouble and 23 people were cheated of ₹43.93 lakh.
An FIR has been registered against Shraddha Chandrakant Andure, Yogesh Madanlal Mundada, Jay Pankaj Chavji, Shubham Jayprakash Pagare and Anirudh Bipin Rasane.
A woman has lodged a complaint at the Kothrud police station. The incident took place at Click and Brush Company located in Bhusari Colony in Kothrud from March 9, 2023 to May 6, 2023.
According to the police, the accused gave advertisements on Instagram and Facebook offering jobs in the company. People were promised that they will be able to earn ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 per day. Subscription money for two years was collected from makeup artistes, hair stylists, photographers, models and fashion designers and they were given temporary work. Later, they were told that the company was in trouble and they were not given any work.
They were told that the subscription money will be returned and were given various excuses. After they realised that they had been cheated, they approached the police. The police have so far received complaints from people of being cheated of ₹43.93 lakh. API Chavan is investigating the case.
