(Parbhani) : A 45-year-old farmer from Ghadoli drowned in the Purna river on Sunday (March 7). The body of the deceased identified as Namdev Mangu Jadhav (45), was recovered from the river late on Monday.
According to the villagers of Ghadoli in Jintur taluka, farmer Namdev Jadhav had gone to his farm around 10 am on Sunday to start the electric pump. After he did not return home until late in the night, his relatives and other villagers searched for him. Later, the villagers informed Jintur Police station regarding the incident. Constable A. S. Kande and Bodhankar rushed to the spot and started searching for him.
According to the police, when the water level in the river basin declined, the villagers found Jadhav’s body on Monday. After this, Police and Revenue administration, taluka health department team and sarpanch of Ghadoli, Kholgadga, and villagers rushed to the spot. Taluka Medical Officer Dr Dinesh Boralkar and Dr Swati Akoshe performed autopsy on the spot and later handed over his body to his relatives, the police said.
