7-year-old boy dies in accident, driver arrested

Pune : Policenama online accident |  A seven-year-old boy died after a speeding car hit a family of three in Pimpri-Chinchwad. The driver of the car sped away after the incident but was arrested by the Wakad police after examining footage from more than 100 CCTVs.

Vishnu Gavli and his wife Rajshree were injured in the accident but their son Sangharsh died during treatment at a hospital. The Wakad police have arrested Tejas Shashikant Baraskar (19).

According to the police, the family of three was going to Yavat in the morning. They were going to travel from Kalewadi Phata by other vehicles. A speeding car hit them while they were walking on the ring road. The couple was injured but their son was seriously hurt. He was admitted to a hospital but he died during treatment.

The boy’s father lodged a complaint with the Wakad police. The police swung into action after examining footage from 100 CCTVs, arrested the accused.

Biggest and decisive victory in Indo-Pak War 1971: Prithviraj Chavan

Pune : Policenama online  | India fought its first war as a nation in 1965 and won it. However, the Indian soldiers’ victory in the 1971 War, when Bangladesh was carved out, was the first biggest and decisive victory for the country, said former CM and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan.

He said this victory was a result of the coordination among the three armed forces. He was speaking after inaugurating a 3D multimedia laser show at the Vasantrao Bagul Garden in Shivdarshan. It is based on the 1971 War victory, which has completed 50 years.

Earlier, tribute was paid to the martyrs who laid their lives while defending the country and CDS Bipin Rawat and others, who died in a chopper crash recently. Floral tributes were paid to the images of Indira Gandhi and Gen Sam Manekshaw who were the architects of the 1971 War Victory.
