A case of extortion filed against an RTI activist in Dehu road

Dehu Road : Policenama online Pune Pimpri Crime | A case of extortion has been registered at the Dehu Road Police Station against a Right to Information activist and his other accomplices, who demanded an extortion of Rs 3,000 per month from a hotelier. The incident took place at a restaurant in Dehu Road around 2.30 pm on Monday. (Pune Pimpri Crime)

 

In this regard, Pramod Arun Avghade (35) from Dehu road has filed a complaint at the Dehu road Police Station on Thursday. According to this, the police have registered a case under IPC 383, 384, 387, 34, 120 (b) against RTI activists Sreejit Rameshan, Adam and four others. (Pune Pimpri Crime)

 

According to the police, the complainant owns a restaurant at Dehu Road.
On November 28, Sreejit Rameshan, Adam and their four other accomplices came to his hotel. When the accused kept a bottle of liquor brought with them on the table, the chef of the restaurant warned that drinking liquor was prohibited there. The accused then took a picture of the bottle of liquor placed on the table and demanded an extortion of Rs 3,000 per month. If extortion money is not given, he threatened to make the photo viral after the complainant refused to pay the money, Shrijit Rameshan tarnished his reputation in society by making the photo viral.

 

Assistant Police Inspector Ashish Jadhav is investigating the case.
