ACB arrests Assistant Registrar Ranjeet Patil while accepting bribe of ₹20 lakh for not taking action under Moneylenders’ Act

An FIR has been registered against Ranjeet Mahadev Patil (32), Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Organisation, Niphad and Pradeep Arjun Veer Narayan (45), senior clerk, Cooperative Organisation, Niphad. Ranjeet Patil sought a bribe of ₹20 lakh for not taking action against the complainant’s grandfather under the Moneylenders’ Act on March 29. Ranjeet Patil took the money in the presence of the panches at Mumbai Naka and he has been arrested.
