ACB Trap News | Policeman arrested by ACB red-handed for accepting bribe of ₹3,000
WASHIM: ACB Trap News | The ACB has arrested a policeman red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹3,000 for granting bail in an assault case. An FIR has been registered against Police naik Sanjay Kaniram Rathod (53), posted at Manora police station, Washim and he has been arrested.
An FIR had been registered against the complainant and his father on April 23, 2023 under section 324 of the IPC at the Manora police station. Police naik Sanjay Rathod demanded a bribe of ₹3,000 for not arresting him and his father and granting bail to them.
Since the complainant did not want to pay a bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB. After the complaint was verified, it became clear that policeman Sanjay Rathod was demanding a bribe. On May 18, 2023, Rathod accepted a bribe of ₹3,000 in the presence of government panch and he was caught red-handed.
Amravati ACB SP Maroti Jagtap, Addl SP Arun Sawant, Add SP Devidas Gheware guided officials including DySP Gajanan Shelke, PI Mahesh Bhosale, policeman Vinod Markande, policeman Nitin Tavlarkar, policeman Vinod Avgale and policeman Durgadas Jadhav in taking the action.
