Medical superintendent of Bhor arrested for taking bribe

Pune : Policenama online – Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Pune | The ACB Pune office has arrested medical superintendent Dr Amit Hindurao Sardesai (60) for taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 for not sending an adverse report after checking a sonography centre. The action was taken by the Pune office of ACB by laying a trap at Bhor sub district hospital on Tuesday.
A 42-year-old doctor had lodged a complaint at the ACB’s Pune office. According to the police, Medical Superintendent Dr Amit Sardesai is supposed to visit sonography centres in his area and send a report to the district surgeon. The complainant is a doctor and he has a hospital in Bhor. Dr Sardesai checked the sonography centre and demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 for not sending an adverse report to the district surgeon. He later agreed to accept Rs 5,000.
After the complainant lodged a complaint with the Pune ACB, the officials examined the complaint in the presence of panches. It was found that Dr Sardesai had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000. Dr Sardesai was caught red handed accepting a bribe. PI Shriram Shinde of Pune ACB is carrying out further investigation.
The action was taken by Pune ACB under the guidance of Pune ACB SP Rajesh Bansode, Addl SP Suraj Gurav and Addl SP Suhas Nadgauda.
