PUNE : Policenama online – The ruling party and opposition parties have started a blame game, despite it being clear that Maharashtra Metro Railway Corporation (Maha-Metro) will complete Pune Metro work as per Detail Project Report (DPR) to place girders on the pillars at Sambhaji Bridge. (PMC )

In the monthly general body meeting on Wednesday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator and Pune city President Prashant Jagtap held responsible Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for flouting 131 years tradition of Pune’s Ganesh immersion procession as former Chief Minister Devendra fadnavis had approved wrong DPR. NCP doesn’t have any intention to stop metro work.

He further questioned on what basis city Mayor Murlidhar Mohol stopped metro work in September at Sambhaji Bridge. Mayor should have to explain the reason.

All opposition parties demanded to allow open discussion in the General body meeting, but, city Mayor denied giving permission to corporators to speak on the issue. Finally, NCP, Congress, Shiv sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) corporators staged a dharna in front of the Mayor in a general body meeting.

Opposition parties gave slogans against BJP for not allowing the ruling party to shatter the tradition of Pune city.

Meanwhile, Ganesh Manadal workers have issued a press note which mentioned that we are responsible Ganesh Manadal workers. We are always given preference to society and social causes. We never raised objections on Metro work at Sambhaji Bridge on the issue of girder height.
