Mumbai : Update on resuming Mumbai local service for common passengers can come within two days. Additional commissioner Suresh Kakani has given information in this regard on behalf of BMC. Suresh Kakani has said that in view of the circumstances of Corona in the Mumbai metropolitan area, a decision will be taken to start local service. An important meeting has been called in this regard on Thursday. In this meeting, a decision will be taken after discussing the conditions related to Corona in Mumbai and adjoining areas of Mumbai.

Earlier, Cabinet Minister Vijay Wadettiwar had said that till Mumbai does not come in the first level, the local service will not be started for the common passengers. Explain that the state government has divided the areas of Maharashtra into five parts. Areas where the corona positive rate is less than 5 percent and the occupancy of oxygen beds will be up to 25 percent, those areas will be kept in level one. Such areas will be entitled to 100% exemption and no rules or restrictions will be applicable in these areas.

According to the data, the positivity rate in Mumbai is 4.40 percent. More than 27 percent of Oxygen beds are full. In this sense, Mumbai should have been placed on the second level. But BMC has kept Mumbai in the third level as a precaution. But now when an important meeting is going to be held in this regard on Thursday, the expectations of common travelers have increased. If on Thursday, the occupancy rate of oxygen beds in Mumbai hospitals is seen to be falling below 25 percent, then there is every possibility of starting local for common passengers.
