New Delhi : The Ministry of Electronics and IT has once again sent a notice to Twitter alleging that the map of India was misrepresented. Twitter had shown Leh on the map as part of Jammu and Kashmir. Twitter has five days to respond to the notice.

According to sources, why shouldn’t legal action be taken for disrespecting India’s sovereignty and integrity by showing a wrong map? Asking that, within five days, the Ministry of Electronics and IT has sought an explanation from Twitter.

As per the decision taken by the Union government in August, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have come into existence as two Union Territories since October 31. Leh is part of Ladakh and Twitter has shown it as part of Jammu and Kashmir on the map. The Center has also asked why Leh was not shown in Ladakh. A few days ago, Twitter showed on its map that Ladakh is part of China.
