Crime branch takes action against two for demanding extortion from showroom owner threatening to kill him

Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime News | Two persons demanded a ransom from the showroom owner of the ‘First Cry’ company in Phoenix Mall in Viman Nagar by threatening to kill him. The Anti Extortion Cell of the Pune Police Crime Branch has filed an FIR against the two and arrested a criminal. (Pune Crime News)
A case under sections 386, 387, 341, 34 of the IPC has been registered against Ravindra alias Ravi Jayaprakash Sasane from Pune, Mangal Satpute from Lohgaon at the Airport Police Station. Ravindra Sasane has been arrested and is currently in police custody. Sasane is a criminal on record. Jitendra Rahul Ram from Chinchwad has lodged a complaint in this regard.
The work of interior renovation of the complainant’s showroom First Cry at Phoenix Mall was going on. When the plywood truck required for this work arrived at Phoenix Mall, the accused obstructed the workers of the plywood dealer without letting them download. Also, they demanded a ransom of Rs 8 lakh from the complainant saying that they are localites here. At the end of the compromise, the accused demanded Rs 4.5 lakhs. It has been mentioned in the complaint that the complainant gave them Rs 2 lakh and for the remaining Rs 2.5 lakhs, they threatened to kill him. Police are conducting further investigation.
