Pune : Policenama online Pune Crime News | Doctors and staff of the Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital have been booked for negligence. A senior citizen who was being treated at the hospital received burns during treatment. He was taking treatment for head injuries received in an accident. His stomach and genitals were burnt. A case has been registered against the doctors and staff. The injured patient is identified as Hiralal Sarawan (70) from Daund. (Pune Crime News)

 

Adv Suresh Sarawan has lodged a complaint at the Koregaon Park Police Station. According to the police, Hiralal Sarawan is a retired railway employee. He usually goes to exercise in the evening. On the evening of January 4, he was hit by a bike rider while returning home after exercising. He got head injuries. He was first admitted to Daund Railway Hospital. There, a CT scan revealed bleeding in the skull. He was brought to Inlaks and Budhrani Hospital in Koregaon Park at midnight on January 5.

 

He underwent a surgery there. Doctors said the operation went well but his kin could not meet him in the ICU. Next day, the complainant, along with his mother, went to meet his father. He was unconscious then. Burn marks were seen on his stomach, hands and private parts. When he asked Dr Mahesh Kumar about this, Kumar said as his father’s body got cold, a hot water bag was used to warm him. The bag leaked and his stomach, hands and genitals got burnt. His condition was stable.

 

However, the patient’s condition worsened the next day. The lawyer rushed to the hospital. Later, he went to Koregaon Park and told the incident to the police officers. The police registered a case against the doctors and staff of the hospital.

 

Advocates Tosif Shaikh, Kranti Sahane, Swapnil Girme, Deepak Gaikwad, Mahesh Gawli, Jaideep Doke Patil, Mohammad Shaikh, Shivani Gaekwad, Vishwajit Patil as well as Azad Samaj Party West Maharashtra president IT Bhai Shaikh, Azad Samaj Party Women District President Swatitai Gaikwad were also present at the police station.
