Eight acres of sugarcane fields gutted in fire at Kalas, Indapur
Indapur : Policenama online – Around eight acres of sugarcane field was gutted in a fire that suddenly broke out at Kalas in Indapur taluka of the district. In all, 10 farmers in the area have suffered heavy losses in the fire. (Maharashtra)
The exact cause behind the blaze could not be ascertained. The farmers who suffered losses included Havaybai Bhaguji Dhaytonde, Rukmini Bhaguji Dhaytonde, Sitabai Dattatreya Khartode, Balasaheb Jagannath Khomne, Pandurang Bayaji Khartode, Shivaji Sukhdev Khartode, Ankush Sayaji Khartode, Appaji Babu Khomne, Rajendra Babu Khomne, and Tanaji Gangaram Khomne. They had adjacent fields. (Maharashtra )
Agriculture equipment has also been damaged in the fire, said farmers. Officials from the agriculture department of Karmayogi Shankarrao Patil Sakhar Karkhana immediately examined the damaged fields and organised sugar cane cutting.
