Policenama online –  NCP leader Eknath Khadse reached the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Mumbai today. He was summoned by the agency in the Pune MIDC land deal case 2016.

Yesterday the ED had issued summons to the Khadse. Earlier yesterday, Eknath Khadse’s son-in-law Girish Chaudhari was also arrested for an alleged money laundering case.

According to reports, when Khadse reached the ED office he said that he will cooperate with the ED probe. “It is politically motivated and entire Maharashtra can see what is happening.”

ED had earlier in December asked Eknath Kahdse to appear before the agency. Following Khadse moved to the Bombay High Court seeking protection from the arrest by the ED.

Then he had alleged that ED started chasing him only after he left the BJP and joined NCP. Later he was questioned in January in connection with the same deal of Pune MIDC land.

Anti Corruption Bureau had booked Eknath Khadse, his wife Mandakini, the son-in-law Girish Chaudhary, and original landowner Abbas Aqani.

Based on allegations of a realtor named Hemant Gawande, ACB registered a case against the leader and his family. Gawande alleged irregularities pertaining to the purchase of the prime land by the leader and others. The land was purchased for Rs 3.75 crore when its actual value was over 31 crore.
