This data highlights the significant demand for EVs in cities such as Mumbai, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Anticipated Surge in Three-Wheeler Sales

The state of Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a leader in EV sales, primarily driven by the extensive use of electric three-wheelers in public transportation. Experts in the automotive industry predict that Uttar Pradesh will witness a rapid transition of public transport vehicles to electric variants in the coming year. This shift is expected to fuel a substantial increase in EV sales within the state.

Promising Future for EV Market

The growing competition among new startups in the electric vehicle sector is projected to lower prices and subsequently boost sales. Experts believe that within the next one to two years, a significant portion of the population will own EVs, driven by favorable government policies at both the central and state levels. Anant Sardeshmukh, an auto industry expert, stated that these factors will contribute to the future growth of EV sales.

Maharashtra Secures Second Position in EV Sales

With the private transportation landscape rapidly evolving, Maharashtra has secured the second rank in the sales of electric vehicles. Over the past three years, the state has witnessed a total of 260,000 EV sales, following Uttar Pradesh’s lead in this market transformation
