FIR registered against BJP leader Pravin Darekar

Mumbai : Policenama onlineFIR On Pravin Darekar | BJP leader Pravin Darekar, who had contested the election of Mumbai District Central Co-operative Bank from the labourer category, has received a big setback. The Mumbai police have registered an FIR against him. Since the main branch of the bank is located in Fort, the offence has been registered at the Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Marg police station. The BJP leaders have become aggressive. The BJP is alleging that the state government had taken the action as a vendetta. Now, it remains to be seen what action will be taken against Darekar.

 

Aam Aadmi Party’s Maharashtra unit secretary Dhananjay Shinde has filed the complaint and a case has been registered against Darekar under sections 199,200,406,417,420,465,467 and 120(B) of the IPC.

 

Darekar had contested the election from labourer and urban co-operative categories. However, when the result was declared, Darekar was declared disqualified from the labourer category. After the result was declared, Darekar had resigned from the director’s post from the labourer category.

 

The Co-operation Department had sent a notice to Darekar asking him whether he was a labourer. In his affidavit, Darekar had mentioned that the family owned property worth Rs 2 crore 9 lakh. Darekar, who is the leader of opposition, is getting a salary of Rs 2.5 lakh per month. Hence, the notice said that because of this information, Darekar could not be considered a labourer. Finally, Co-Registrar Bajiwar Shinde declared Darekar as unqualified as a labourer.

 

Later, the AAP asked CM Uddhav Thackeray and Co-operative Minister Balasaheb Patil to file a case against Darekar. Finally, the police have registered a case against Darekar based on a complaint by the AAP.
