GSLV-F12 successfully launches first 2nd Gen Navigation satellite


Sriharikota (AP), May 29 (UNI) The Indian Space Research Organisation

(ISRO)’s heavy rocket GSLV-F12 today successfully launched the first

of the second generation 2,232 kg Navigation Satellite NVS-01 from

the SHAR Range here.

After a smooth 27.5 hour countdown, the three-stage 51.73 m tall

launch vehicle, with a lift off mass of 420 tonnes, carrying the

satellite took off from the Second Launch Pad at 1042 hrs.
