ISRO is buzzing, lines up three launches in 2 months, unmanned test mission in Feb 2024


Sriharikota, Apr 22 (UNI) ISRO | This Indian spaceport in Andhra Pradesh is buzzing with

activity as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is planning three launches

in the next two months, and will also embark on first unmanned test mission as

part of Gaganyaan programme.

Talking to reporters after the successful launch of PSLV-C55, which had injected

two Singapore satellites–TeLEOS-2 and Lumilite-4–in the precise 586 km orbit

in a dedicated commercial mission from the SHAR Range here, ISRO Chairman

Dr.S.Somanath said works have already begun and the Space Agency is planning

three missions in the next months.

After today’s successful launch, ISRO tweeted “PSLV- C55/TeLEOS-2 mission is

accomplished successfully.”

“In a textbook launch, the vehicle placed TeLEOS-2 and LUMELITE-4 satellites

precisely into their intended 586 km circular orbit”, it said.

“Congratulations PSLV and NSIL for this successful launch,” Dr Somnath, said,

adding there are “interesting things” lined up in the near future.

ISRO has lined up key missions including, Aditya L1, Navigation satellites,

a commercial launch with the heavier rocket GSLV and a mission with Small

Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV).

He said ISRO will launch the first unmanned test rocket GSLV as a part of

the human space mission, Gaganyaan in February next year and the human

module will land in the sea.

“Prior to this, ISRO will undetake a test Gagayaan mission in June this year

where the rocket will go up to 12-14 km and test the safety systems”, he said.

On the next step in developing a reusable rocket , similar to the USA’s Space

Shuttle, Dr Somanath said an Oribital Recovery Vehicle will be launched which

will be in the space for a few days and come back.
