J P Nadda to address rally in Tripura to celebrate 9th anniversary of Modi govt
Agartala, June 12 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday reviewed the preparation of the visit of BJP national president J P Nadda on June 16 next to address a gathering in Shantirbazar of South Tripura to celebrate 9th year of the Narendra Modi-led government at the centre.
The party leaders said Nadda would arrive here on June 16 and to hold a meeting with the party functionaries at night to discuss plans to strengthen the organization.
The visit aims to mobilise party workers and kick off the BJP’s campaign for next year’s Lok Sabha elections.
The party insiders said the rally will focus on two main issues – the celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nine years in office and to boost the party rank and file for the upcoming Loksabha elections.
The meeting resolved to make the rally a historic one, especially with the presence of indigenous people at a time when the BJP is facing challenge from the main opposition party TIPRA Motha in the hills.
“Naddaji is coming to the state to address a mammoth public meeting on June 17 on the occasion of 9th anniversary of the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modiji. I participated in a preparatory meeting called today at the Pradesh office to make the arrival of Nadda a success,” Dr Saha said before leaving for Delhi to take part in the meetings of CMs and BJP state presidents on Tuesday.
J P Nadda’s visit to the state is significant due to the factional feud among the party leadership in the state.
Allegedly, a group of MLAs and leaders aligned to former Chief Minister and Rajyasabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb and Union Minister of the State Pratima Bhoumik have been working against the Chief Minister.
