Srinagar : The engineering wing of the Indian Army has started the Oxygen Generation Plant of ND Gases in a record four days. This oxygen plant is located on the outskirts of Srinagar which was not operating for about 5 years. The army fulfilled this mission in view of the increasing number of corona patients in the Kashmir Valley and the increasing demand for oxygen in hospitals.
The administration had sought this help from the army. After this, the army engaged the soldiers on this mission and achieved success. Due to the running of this plant, now about 700 oxygen cylinders can be refilled daily and can be supplied in hospitals.
Col. Neeladri Roy of the Military Engineering Wing of the Army said that the Civil Administration had sought help from the Chinar Corps to make the plant functional. The Chinar Corps, with the help of the Air Force, ordered spare parts in two days. Repair teams also arrived on Sunday morning and work was started to fix it.
The plant was made functional in association with civil technicians. Colonel Roy said that it was a challenging task to start this plant within 4 days. All the tasks were completed in a phased manner. He said that many parts of the plant were damaged.
Colonel Neeladri Roy said that this plant will meet the requirement of 700 oxygen cylinders daily. In the future, we are ready to provide services wherever we are needed. At the same time, the owner of this plant, Ali Mohammad, praised the army and said, it was not possible to start this plant in such a record time.
Army engineers completed this mission by working day and night. This will help the local population a lot. The plant had many problems, including heavy duty air compressors, chillers and even columnar air separators, after being shut down for nearly 5 years.
Nayak Rawal Changya said that he was asked to start this plant in the shortest possible time. They are happy that this plant has become functional in record time. This would go a long way in the war against Corona. Earlier, the Army had set up a 250-bed Covid Care Center in the Rangreth area and a 20-bed in the Uri sector.
