J&K: Politicians visit house of slain police officer


Srinagar, Dec 9 (UNI)- Several politicians visited the residence of slain J&K Police Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani on Saturday to offer condolences.

Inspector Wani died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, on Thursday, over a month after he was shot in Srinagar’s Eidgah grounds while playing cricket.

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti paid a condolence visit on Saturday and expressed her sympathies with the bereaved family.

She said that the tragic incident further highlights the persistent cycle of violence in J&K, claiming yet another family. BJP J&K Chief Ravinder Raina visited the residence of Wani in Srinagar today.

During the visit, BJP President Raina expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family.

Raina remarked that Wani’s unwavering dedication and ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation will remain an inspiration for all.

“Inspector Masroor Wani’s exceptional dedication and commitment to duty within the Jammu and Kashmir Police Force, his courage, and selfless service will forever be remembered and cherished,” he told reporters.
