Narayangaon: The police raid continued on the financial centre of Mahadev Book and Lotus 365 betting app on the second day. The centre is located on the third floor of the Vision Galaxy society in Narayangaon.

As many as 99 people have been booked, out of them, three are minors while three persons are absconding. The Pune Rural Police Local Crime Branch (LCB) produced five accused in the Junnar court, which sent them to police custody till May 20. The identification parade of the remaining 88 people was conducted via video conferencing and they have been sent to judicial custody. All of them have been sent to the Yerwada Central Prison.

The five accused, who have been sent to police custody, have been identified as Kunal Sunil Bhat (28), a resident of Jalgaon, Samir Yunus Pathan (25), a resident of Junnar, Rashid Kamal Sharif Fulla (28), a resident of Vazirabad, Amjad Khan Sardar Khan (33), a resident of Lucknow, and Yash Rajendra Singh Chouhan (27), a resident of Gorakhpur.

The police seized 44 desktop computers and a laptop, 188 cell phones and other valuables. Bets were accepted for the past two months at the centre on cricket league, various other team sports and online games. Among the absconding accused are the main culprits, Hritik Kothari (24) and Raj Bokaria (25) and one more person. The arrested operators are mainly from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan. Some of them are from Narayangaon and Junnar. These people were recruited through online advertisements and interviews.

As many as 96 people were handling over 400 bank accounts through the call centre. These accounts were used for accepting and paying money to other people. The police seized 400 bank account kits.

The investigation is being conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (SP), Pune Rural, Pankaj Deshmukh, Addl SP Ramesh Chopde. The LCB and Narayangaon Police are carrying out the probe.

Adv Rajendra Kolhe and Adv Ketan Kawale argued on behalf of the accused. The police are searching for the absconding accused.
