Maharashtra first runner-up in Interoperable Criminal Justice System in Police Search category; PSI (CID) Archana Kadam, Sandip Shinde, Priyanka Shitole honoured
New Delhi : Maharashtra Police-CID | Maharashtra State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) got the national-level first runner-up award in the ‘Police Search’ category under the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS). Police officers and personnel from the Maharashtra CID were also honoured for their Individual Best Performance. (Maharashtra Police-CID)
The awards were presented at the ‘Good Practices in CCTNS/ICJS 2021’ conference by Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra. The meet was jointly organised by the Union Home Ministry and National Crime Records Centre (NCRC), New Delhi.
The Maharashtra Police – CID effectively used CCTNS/ICJS system during their routine work such as crime detection, crime prevention, passport/character verification, MBO, arms licence, etc. Using this system, the Maharashtra Police detected around 1,990 criminal cases. Valuables in 670 theft cases were recovered. Around 1,959 missing or unclaimed bodies were found. Preventive action was taken against 13,848 criminals and bails were rejected in 786 cases.
Using the CCTNS/ICJS system, the Maharashtra police cross-checked 29,803 suspects/accused and filed cases against 16,624 of them. Around 1.60 lakh verifications of passport/character cases were handled, in which 3,709 accused were booked. The Maharashtra police got the second prize for this outstanding performance at the national level.
Awards for Individual Best Performance
Among the individual award winners from the Maharashtra Police CID for the successful implementation of the CCTNS/ICJS system are PSI Archana Kadam, police personnel Sandeep Shinde and Priyanka Shitole.
The actions were taken under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police Riteish Kumar, Special Inspector General (State Criminal Investigation Department) Makrand Ranade. SP Sambhaji Kadam, Addl SP Nanda Paraje, DySP Jitendra Kadam, Chandrasekhar Sawant, Archana Patil, Arvind Alhat, Police Inspector Shashikala Kakare, and Jeevan Mohite took part in the actions.
