Maharashtra Police News | Policeman accepts bribe via PhonePay, SP suspends him
CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJI NAGAR : Maharashtra Police News | The common man is safe because the police department does their work in an efficient manner. Many police officers and policemen don’t hesitate while performing their duties. However, there are a handful of people who are corrupt. A shocking incident has taken place in Paithan taluka in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. A police employee took a bribe of ₹25,000. After the SP received complaints, he immediately took action and suspended the concerned policeman.
The suspended policeman has been identified as Sachi Bhume. Action has been taken against him by SP of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Manish Kalvania. The SP had received complaints that policemen from Paithan SDPO office threatened people and collected large amounts of money. Senior officials came to know that policeman Sachin Bhume had taken a bribe of ₹25,000 on PhonePay.
The matter was investigated and later, policeman Sachin Bhume was immediately suspended. Bhume was in the team of SDPO and he was keeping tabs on illegal activities. He threatened the gutkha mafia of action and collected ₹25,000 from them on PhonePay. When his superiors came to know, he was immediately suspended. A policeman accepting a bribe via PhonePay is being considered a new trend. Bhume’s suspension has created a flutter in the police department.
