Pune : Policenama online Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime News | A man died by suicide after pouring petrol on himself and setting himself on fire because he was fed up as his wife used to tell him to take loans regularly and had lodged a complaint with the police about harassment. The deceased has been identified as Nitin Sundar Jadhav, a resident of Chikhali. Sundar Ladu Jadhav (66), a resident of Chinchwad, has lodged a complaint (352/23) at the Chakan police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Nitin Jadhav’s wife, Pratap Narayan Chavan, Ravindra Nandlal Sitkal, all residents of Khed taluka.

 

According to the police, Nitin got married eight years ago. However, she never came to her in-laws house at Chinchwad. Nitin used to go to her house frequently. She used to always take loans on Nitn’s behalf and Nitin was forced to repay the loan. Nitin had a suspicion that she was having an affair. She used to always quarrel with Nitin. Hence, Nitin was always under stress.

 

Nitin called up the complainant on April 3 and asked him to pick up his son and drop him home. Nitin and his wife had gone to Khed Shivapur and they had a dispute. His wife went home in an autorickshaw. She had lodged a complaint at the Khed Shivapur police and the police had sent her away. Nitin came to the complainant’s shop in the evening and he appeared very worried. He was being abused and threatened by his wife, sister-in-law and brother-in-law.

 

He went away in an autorickshaw. On the way he purchased a petrol filled container. After going to his father-in-law’s house at Waki, he poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire. His in-laws took him to a hospital but he was declared dead on arrival. The Chakan police have registered an FIR under the Atrocity Act.
