Man tries to commit suicide by consuming poison after killing wife

Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime News | After murdering his wife by strangling and hitting her, a man tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. The incident took place at Sai Paradise at Fursungi between 10:30 pm on Wednesday night and 7:30 am on Thursday morning. (Pune Crime News)

The deceased has been identified as Swati Akshay Jadhav (22) from Fursungi. Akshay Ananda Jadhav (25) is being treated at the Sassoon Hospital.

Swati’s father Vinayak Maruti Thorat (39) from Ahmednagar has lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar Police Station. Accordingly, a case of murder (FIR) has been filed against Akshay Jadhav.

According to the police, Akshay and Swati were married 4 years ago. Akshay owns a car rental business. Due to an argument between the two, Akshay killed Swati by strangling her and hitting her in the head. He then tried to commit suicide by drinking poison.

On Thursday morning, after realizing that Jadhav was not opening the door of hishouse, the police were called. Akshay was found to be in a critical condition. The police immediately admitted him to the Sassoon Hospital. He was being treated.

The reason behind Swati’s murder is yet to be known. PSI Damre is investigating further.
