Minister Jayant Patil’s son Prateek Patil tests positive for COVID-19
Mumbai: Minister of Water Resources Jayant Patil’s son Prateek tested tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
“I have been tested positive for Covid-19. Those who came in contact with me should get themselves checked. My health is stable and I am currently in home isolation on doctor’s advice”, Prateek wrote on twitter.
I have tested COVID positive.
Whilst I am doing fine, I am taking appropriate medical advice and hope to recover soon. I shall be undertaking my duties via video-conference.
I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and self-isolate.🙏

Earlier, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Cabinet Minister Jayant Patil, and NCP leader Eknath Khadse had tested positive for the virus.
Maharashtra has reported 6,397 fresh cases of coronavirus on Monday (March 1). The 6,397 new infections have taken the state’s tally of total cases to 21,61,467, including 77,618 active cases.
Maharashtra and Kerala alone account for 67.84 per cent of total active cases, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
Six states and UTs including Maharashtra, Kerala, Goa, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Gujarat have a weekly positivity rate higher than the national average of 2 per cent. Maharashtra leads all the states with a weekly positivity rate of 10.02 per cent, the ministry said.
