Mumbai Heavy Rain | Building collapses in Mumbai’s Govandi area, 3 killed, 7 injured

Meanwhile, three people were killed and seven were injured when a two-storey building collapsed in Govandi, Mumbai. It is being said that due to heavy rains, the structure of this ground plus one collapsed. Three people have died in this. According to the information received, Mohammad Fayaz Qureshi (21 years), Namra Qureshi (17 years) and Shahina Qureshi (26 years) died in this accident. Those injured in the accident have been admitted to Rajawadi and Sion hospitals.

A municipal official said that the incident took place at around 5 am on plot number three near Bombay City Hospital. A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said, “Seven fire tenders and a rescue van of the fire brigade and police personnel as well as other agency personnel rushed to the spot and launched a search and rescue operation.” He said that 10 people were injured in the incident. He also said that seven of them were taken to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar while three others were admitted to Lokmanya Tilak Memorial Hospital in Sion.

However, the doctors of Rajawadi Hospital declared two dead. The two deceased have been identified as Neha Parvez Shaikh (35) and Mokar Jabir Shaikh. A woman, identified as Shamshad Shaikh (45), is said to be in critical condition, the official said. All others are undergoing treatment and their condition is stable.
