Mumbai : An important meeting of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is to be held on Thursday on whether Mumbai local train service should be opened for general public or not. BMC Additional Commissioner Suresh Kakani had informed about opening the Mumbai Local for general public two days ago and gave a positive sign about starting local train service for general public. At present, only employees and officers associated with essential services can travel in Mumbai local.
But at present, even if you are not connected to essential services, you can still travel in Mumbai local. Now those people who have to go to get the vaccine have been allowed to travel in Mumbai local.
Due to the closure of Mumbai local train service for the general public, those who had to go to get the vaccine were facing a lot of problems. It was not easy for them to reach the vaccine center. General public of Mumbai could not afford autos and taxis to travel to remote vaccination centers. In view of these problems, permission has been given to travel in Mumbai local for those people who have to go to get the vaccine.
For this, all you have to do is to show the message that came in your mobile at the ticket counter in which the place and time of vaccination has been given. Such passengers have been allowed to travel in the Central Railway. At present, Western Railway has not taken any decision in this regard.
Under the ‘Break the Chain’ rules imposed by the state government, employees of essential services, patients, disabled people have been allowed to travel in Mumbai local trains. In the absence of an authorized ID card at the ticket counter, the ticket will not be given. But now those who have to go to get the vaccine, they will be able to travel in Mumbai local.
