Nandurbar police provide 4 tonnes of firewood for cremation
Nandurbar : Policenama online – Nandurbar Police | Bodies brought to a cemetery in the city could not be cremated as there was shortage of firewood at Navapur for the past one week. Citizens, along with the relatives of the deceased, were upset over the negligence of bodies. As soon as he learnt about this through the media, the Nandurbar District Superintendent of Police instructed the Police Inspector of Navapur Police Station to take immediate action. Taking measures, the police made firewood available at the crematorium.
The Nandurbar DSP, Navapur Police Station officers, along with staff, contributed and around four tonnes of wood was made available.
As firewood is not available in the region, the police purchased it from a neighbouring Gujarat district.
Witnessing the human side of the Khaki uniform, relatives of the deceased in the Navapur area thanked them.
However, the police led by SP PR Patil, Sub Divisional Police Officer Sachin Hire and PI Dnyaneshwar Vare said that it was their duty.
