Mumbai : Policenama online – BJP leader and Union Minister Narayan Rane has got a relief from the Bombay High Court in his Juhu bungalow case. The court has directed that no action should be taken on the notice issued by the BMC.
There are allegations that illegal construction has been carried out in Rane’s bungalow. Narayan Rane, his wife Neelam Rane and son Nilesh Rane were directors of Artline Properties Private Limited which merged with Kalka Estates on October 18, 2017. The Rane family is a shareholder in Kalka Estates. Hence, the family resides in the bungalow. There are allegations that illegal construction has taken place in Rane’s bungalow. The BMC had issued a notice to the Rane family about this and a team from the BMC also inspected the bungalow.
The dispute is now being heard in the Bombay High Court. Kalka Real Estate, which owns the bungalow, and director Kanta Ramchandra Rane has filed a writ petition challenging the notices issued by the BMC. A preliminary hearing took place on Tuesday. The court has ordered that no action should be taken on the notice issued by the BMC. Rane has been given a period of three weeks to again appeal in the high court. Hence, Rane has got a reprieve from the court.
Complainant Santosh Daundkar has alleged that the BMC is trying to save Rane’s bungalow. When a notice was issued to demolish illegal portions within a fortnight, it is a time wasting tactic to issue another notice within four days giving another 15-day extension, he said.
He has also sent a written complaint to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray pointing out that many rules were broken while constructing the bungalow.
