Mumbai : Policenama online – On the backdrop of growing concern over the omicron variant, the State has issued curfew orders from 9 pm to 6 am in Mumbai. With the rising risk of getting contracted with coronavirus; fresh restrictions are imposed on hosting New Year’s parties in Mumbai.
Following the State, Brihan-Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also issued strict orders imposing restrictions on holding December 31 events in both closed and open spaces. Places such as restaurants, pubs, and hotels are overcrowded at prominent venues this time of the year.
The greater Mumbai and its suburbs continue to loom under the spread of Covid-19, especially, when 108 cases of contracting with omicron virus are registered in the current week. The fresh crisis restrained the celebrations held to bid adieu to 2021 and welcoming New Year.
On this backdrop, BMC has appealed to the people to stay home and stay safe in order to break the transmission of the virus successfully.
