Nylon manja banned in kite festival till February 10

Mumbai : Policenama online – Ban On Nylon Manja | Brihanmumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Thakur has ordered that the use, sale and storage of nylon manja made of plastic or any such artificial material during the Kite Festival is banned till February 10, 2023 within the Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate area. (Ban On Nylon Manja)
It has been observed that nylon manja made of plastic or similar synthetic material causes injuries to humans and birds every year at kite flying festivals and such injuries are often fatal. Hence, to protect humans and birds from such fatal accidents, the order has been issued.
This order will remain in force till February 10, 2023. The Brihanmumbai Police Commissionerate has ordered that any person who violates this order will be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Criminal Procedure Code, 1860.
