Omicron cases go up to 101 in country, maximum cases in Maharashtra
New Delhi : Policenama online – The number of Omicron cases in India has gone up to 101 and cases have been reported from 11 states and union territories. The information has been given by the Union health ministry.
Cases have been found in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka and Chandigarh.
Thirty-two cases have been found in Maharashtra and 22 in Delhi. Seventeen cases have been found in Rajasthan and eight cases have been found in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Five cases have been found in Gujarat and Kerala. Only one case has been found in Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The information was given by Joint Secretary of the Union Ministry of Health Sachin Agrawal.
Of the 32 cases in Maharashtra, 13 are in Mumbai, 10 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 2 in Pune, 2 in Osmanabad, one in Kalyan-Dombivali, Nagpur, Latur, Vasai-Virar and Buldhana.
Twenty five patients have been sent home after their RT-PCR test report came negative. The health department has issued an alert and it is feared that the cases may rise in January and February.
