Policenama-  Bharti Vidyapeeth Police arrested a 24-year-old for allegedly terrorizing by brandishing a sword in the Dhankawadi locality.

The accused has been identified as Navnath Vitthal Ghadge resident of Sai Siddhi Chowk, Ambegaon Pathar.

According to police residents of Chintamani Dnyanpeeth Chowk of Dhanakawadi area informed that Ghadge was trying to spread terror among residents of the area. On information, police reached the spot and seized the sword, and detained him.

During the investigation, police got to know that he was also involved in the vandalization of vehicles in Ambegaon Pathar on June 26. He allegedly damaged four-wheelers by breaking glasses. The incident was also reported with Bharti Vidyapeeth Police and a case was lodged with the police against an unidentified person.

According to police, he had a fight with his brother and in a fit of rage, he pelted stones on his brother’s car damaging it. Following this, police arrested him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Earlier last month, a miscreant was arrested and his five accomplices were booked for allegedly brandishing swords and terrorizing people, especially shopkeepers, in Kondhwa area.

Pune Crime branch Police booked industrialist Nanasaheb Gaikwad, son among three in an extortion case on Thursday.

A case has been lodged in Chaturshringi Police Station against Industrialist Nanasaheb Gaikwad, Ganesh aka Kedar Nanasaheb Gaikwad, and Deepak Nivrutti Gaware for allegedly demanding extortion of Rs two crore. A 25-year-old businessman has filed a case.
