Otur: Two killed, three injured as a dumper hits a two-wheeler on Nagar-Kalyan highway

Otur: Two women were killed and 3 injured in a horrific accident when a dumper truck a two-wheeler on Sunday (January 31) at Pargaon Fata on the Nagar-Kalyan highway within the limits of Madh village, the police said.

According to the police, two dumper trucks were racing on the highway before hitting the two-wheeler. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Alephata. The police have arrested the dumper driver in the case.

The deceased have been identified as Kavita Ashok Jagtap (28, Karanjale, Junnar), Prajakrat Bharat Mali (17, Khubi). The injured have been identified as Ashok Ganesh Jagtap, Shreya (age 2), Aryan Jagtap (age 4, Karanjale, Junnar). Vijay Anna Vitkar is the name of the dumper driver who was remanded in judicial custody. Ashok Jagtap has filed a complaint in this case

According to the information received, the driver of the dumper (MH 17 AG 4478) Vitkar, was speeding towards Kalyan from the Nagar. At that time, another dumper was traveling on the same road. Both the dumper drivers started racing on the highway and hit a two-wheeler (MH 14 FB 3958) from behind on which Ashok and his family were traveling. The two women died on spot, leaving the Ashok and his two children injured. Otur Police are further investigating the case.
