Pimpri Chinchwad NCP | NCP Leaders in Pimpri-Chinchwad Embrace Ajit Pawar, Congratulatory Signs Emerge
Pune : Pimpri Chinchwad NCP | Ajit Pawar, who was previously involved in the government of Shinde-Fadnavis, received a warm welcome from prominent NCP leaders in the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad. The city has also witnessed congratulatory boards dedicated to Ajit Pawar. As a result, it is evident that the majority of officials in the city are aligned with Ajit Pawar.
Notable figures such as former city president Sanjog Waghere, former opposition leader Nana Kate, senior leader Bhausaheb Bhoir, and former deputy mayor Prabhakar Waghere visited ‘Devagiri’ in Mumbai to meet Pawar. NCP’s only MLA from Pimpri, Anna Bansode, has been steadfast in her support for Ajit Pawar from the very beginning. Former corporator Moreshwar Bhondve has even displayed a plaque congratulating Pawar.
In the meantime, City President Ajit Gavane appears to have adopted a cautious approach. He did not travel to Mumbai, and his cell phone is currently switched off. Ajit Pawar holds a dominant position within the NCP organization in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Pawar has appointed numerous leaders within the NCP and granted them various positions during their time in power at the municipality. Consequently, many office bearers seem to be aligned with Ajit Pawar. The city NCP executive meeting is scheduled for today, where a decision will be made regarding party support.
With the changing political landscape, the dilemma of candidacy is expected to increase. NCP MLA from Pimpri, Anna Bansode, stands with Ajit Pawar, leaving BJP’s Amit Gorkhe in a precarious position. In Chinchwad, BJP’s Ashwini Jagtap is the incumbent MLA, and the question arises about the prospects of Nana Kate, who supports Pawar, as the chances of incumbent MLAs securing the ticket are slim. Mahesh Landge, the city president of BJP and MLA of Bhosari, faces uncertainty, while Ravi Landge, who has resigned from BJP and is moving towards the NCP, also presents a challenge. The outcome in Bhosari will depend on the role former NCP MLA Vilas Lande chooses to play.
