Police chase and arrest four persons who kidnapped a contractor
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime News | Four persons kidnapped a contractor from his home for not providing sugarcane workers despite receiving money for the same. The airport police traced the accused and promptly arrested them with the help of the Bhigwan Police. (Pune Crime News)
The accused are identified as Sandeep Gulab Chavan (28), Akash Ramesh Rathod (35), Nilkanth Babu Ade (31), Digambar Ramesh Rathod (28) all from Karnataka.
Balu Ghansham Pawar (25) from Lohegaon lodged a complaint at the Viman Nagar Police Station. According to the police, Pawar is an auto-rickshaw driver. He had taken Rs 4.5 lakh from Sandeep Chavan seven months ago promising that he will provide the sugarcane cutters. He neither provided the labor, nor did he return the money. On January 18, when Pawar was having dinner at home at eight o’clock in the night, Sandeep Chavan and his accomplices entered the home.
They abused Pawar and beat him up. They also hit his mother and wife. They kidnapped and forcefully took Pawar in a swift car. Pawar’s family reported the matter to the airport police. The police immediately started searching for the accused after conducting a technical investigation. It was found that the kidnappers were travelling on Solapur Road and that they had gone ahead of Yavat. The airport police told the Bhigwan police about this. The Bhigwan police blockaded Solapur Road. As soon as their car reached there, the four were detained and the contractor was rescued. Later, the airport police reached Bhigwan and detained and arrested the accused.
The action was taken by a team comprising PSI Rinvadra Kumar Dhaware, Shantamal Kollure, Police Naik Ankush Jogdande, Girish Nanekar, Suresh Yapale, Rupesh Todekar, Yogesh Thopte, Dada Barde under the guidance of the Airport Police Station Sr PI Vilas Sonde, PI (Crime) Mangesh Jagtap.
