Pune : 19 hotels, restaurants & hookah bars sealed for flouting COVID19 rules

Pune : COVID-hit Maharashtra has been put under strict protocols to lower down the infection. Meanwhile, according to a news report, Hinjawadi police, Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate have sealed total of 19 hotels, hookah bars, beer shops and restaurants. The action was taken following the violation of regulations and conditions imposed by the administration in the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Strict restrictions have been imposed in Pimpri Chinchwad to lower down corona infection. A curfew has been imposed to prevent any threat to the health and lives of the citizens. Action was taken against those who continued to operate hotels, restaurants and hookah bars by violating curfew orders.

Under lockdown protocols, only shops for essential goods are allowed to operate from 7 am to 11 am on weekdays. Hotels and restaurants have been allowed to provide home delivery services. However, these 19 establishments were found to have been violating the rules.

On receiving information, police had deployed three squads to take action against them. The teams raided hotels, beer shops and restaurants in Hinjewadi-Maan, Pune-Bangalore Highway, Bavdhan area. Hinjewadi police had earlier submitted a written proposal to the Mulsi tehsildar before taking the legal action against these establishments.

The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokle, Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle Don Anand Bhoite, Assistant Commissioner of Police Shrikant Disley, Senior Inspector of Police Balkrishna Sawant of Hinjewadi Police Station, Inspector of Crime Ajay Jogdand, Assistant Inspector of Police Deshmukh Salunke, Khadke, Mudal, Kakade, Yalmar, police constable Parale, police Naik Mohite, Mohol, Ghadge, Jadhav, police constable Pawar, Pandhare, Sheikh.
