Pune : Policenama online – An auto-rickshaw driver died in an accident at Vishrantwadi in the wee hours on Wednesday. He was driving his auto-rickshaw under the influence of liquor and was declared dead before treatment.
The victim has been identified as Baba Dadarao Sakat (30) of Hadapsar.
According to PSI Anil Usulkar, an auto-rickshaw (MH12RP2633) was involved in the accident on Alandi road at Mhaske Vasti at around 4.30 am on Wednesday. The police control room informed that the auto-rickshaw driver was seriously injured in the accident. The police immediately rushed to the spot and rushed the auto man to the Sassoon General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead before treatment.
The victim was under the influence of liquor when the accident took place. However, it was not known how the accident happened. The Vishrantwadi police are investigating.
