Pune: BJP worker who built PM Narendra Modi Mandir quits party
Pune: Pune-based BJP worker, Mayur Munde, built a temple of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2021. It became the talk of the town then. However, Munde has now resigned from the primary membership of the party.
He has written a letter to BJP State President Chandrakant Bawankule and conveyed his decision. He has also stated the reasons for his leaving the party.
Content of the letter
Mayur Munde, in his letter, writes: “I worked as a loyal worker of the BJP for the past many years. I have worked very loyally as the president of Aundh ward and BJYM vice-president of Chhatrapati Shivajinagar. However, ‘nishtha’ (loyalty) has been replaced by ‘vishtha’ (excreta) in the past few years in the party. Therefore, I am resigning from the primary membership of the party.”
Other reasons behind the decision
Munde explained some other reasons for taking this step. He writes, “Party posts are distributed at whim and fancy of the local MLA. These posts are given to outsider contractors recruited from outside by ignoring loyalists. Former office-bearers are often insulted. They are not called for party meetings. This has stunted the growth of the Assembly constituency and the party. Hence, I am resigning from all my party posts, including the primary membership of the party.”
Munde wrote that he would continue to be active in public life to serve the people.
