Pune: Bombay High Court Released Former MLA Anil Bhosale on Bail in the Shivajirao Bhosale Co-operative Bank Embezzlement Case
Pune: The Bombay High Court recently granted bail to former MLA Anil Bhosale, who has been in jail for the past three years in the Shivajirao Bhosale Co-operative Bank embezzlement case. However, with the arrest of Mangaldas Bandal, the former chairman of Pune Zilla Parishad’s construction department, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday, there is a possibility that Bhosle’s problems will increase again.
The financial wing of the Pune Police crime branch took action against Anil Bhosale after the embezzlement of Rs 433 crore, 44 lakh came to light. In this case, Bhosale was arrested by the crime branch three years ago. On September 6, 2021, the police filed an 8,000-page charge sheet against seven people, including bank managers, Anil Bhosle, Mangaldas Bandal, and many others.
Bhosle was accused of defrauding borrowers and investors. A few months ago, Mangaldas Bandal was released on bail. However, Bhosale’s bail plea was rejected four times by the session court. Bhosale appealed against it in the high court. Finally, the High Court granted bail to Bhosale, subject to certain conditions.
Meanwhile, the ED conducted raids at various properties of one of the co-accused in the Shivajirao Bhosale Co-operative Bank embezzlement case, Mangaldas Bandal, on Tuesday and arrested him. Sources have said that there is a possibility that Bhosle will also be called for questioning by the ED team in this case.
